Ok, I'm a nerd. I was playing Diablo 2 and just started an Amazon character with specialization in bows. Of course this was way fun because of the attack speed and the fact you pick things off from a far off position. What does all of this have to do with bowhunting? After doing it digitally in a game, I want to try it in real life!
I think bowhunting would be awesome. It was the way our ancestors killed animals for thousands of years. The invention of the bow was one of the most powerful inventions of the ancient world. Being able to kill from a ranged position was a concept that totally changed our evolutionary advantage over other animals and also what modernized warfare between different groups.
I think bowhunting is also cool because it is more challenging. With a gun you can kill something instantly and, other than aiming (which is what you have to do with anything anyway) there's not that much skill involved in my opinion. Bowhunting, however, takes even more aim because if you don't hit a critical spot your arrow will just scratch and scare your target. You have to be precise and hit truly.
Plus it's old school and anything old school just plain rocks :)
