deer hunting, ultimate huntingI have never been deer hunting or on any kind of ultimate hunting adventure before. I would really love to go out and try it sometime but before embarrassing myself with a cock eyed shot I need some target practice. That being said I talked to some friends who are big into deer hunting on advice on what to learn with. The key to practice is finding an accurate reliable rifle that takes cheap rounds. A .22 caliber was the obvious choice all of them suggested to me. After doing some research, taking their advice and speaking with a local shooting range employee, I think a Ruger 10/22 is the way to go. Check out a video featuring what I am talking about below.

<--Modded .22

The one in the video looks more like a weapon you would see in the hands of a tactical strike force but that is just because it has a modified everything. Normally these guns look pretty plain. Not having any recoil with a .22 is the main reason I think such a weapon would improve my accuracy for deer hunting down the road. You can’t beat the price of such small rounds either.
