Ode to Agriculture Farming and Pumpkin Patches |

Growing up in a rural suburban area there were farms in all of the surrounding cities. I never had family who were part of agriculture farming but I did grow up near it. One of my favorite childhood memories was going to something called Remlinger Farm and taking a bumpy adventure on a hay ride, maneuvering through a corn maze and picking out the perfect pumpkin for Halloween. Between these three things and sipping on a hot apple cider in the Autumn air, I was in October heaven.
Now I don’t live anywhere near agriculture farming being in a city and I sort of miss it. There is a nice little pumpkin patch down the road but it is not the same rural farm feeling. No one is wearing flannel, there isn’t a smell of pumpkin seed in the air and no one here uses a strand of hay as a toothpick. Pumpkin patches brought my family into the world of agriculture farming even if it was as an observer but that small taste of this life is still in my mouth and I love it.
